Thank you for this. Enlightening and discouraging at the same time. As a Boomer, after reading this, I feel more irrelevant than ever. Well-written and thought- provoking.

A very well written and interesting article! I have to pose this question though re: the new Far Right Gen Z cons... If they want to preserve "American Culture" then define what it is? I'm a late boomer who identifies as a Gen Xer and in my view "America" doesn't have a culture. There's the all-American suburban malaise and it's destructive nature.

I see myself as being unrepresented in the left-right political spectrum and I'm basically powerless. I think that the left-right model is obsolete as is the idea of being a citizen of a Nation State. That is to say I was born here and have paperwork. I can live/work anywhere in the world... Do Gen Z peeps see that as well?
